Tyre service

When to fit winter tyres in Czechia

Tyres affect braking, stability and fuel consumption. Seasonal tyre service is also a good moment to check tread, age, damage and wheel balance.

Practical advice

When to book tyre service

Check your winter set and arrange a tyre change before the first spell of cold weather. Tell us your tyre size and whether the winter tyres are already fitted to a separate set of rims; these are different services with different prices.

Czech winter tyre rules

From 1 November to 31 March, winter tyres are required when roads have snow, ice or frost, or when those conditions can reasonably be expected during the journey. It is not simply an automatic changeover date for every journey, regardless of the weather. Also follow winter-equipment road signs on your route.

For passenger cars up to 3.5 tonnes, winter tyres must be fitted on all wheels, with at least 4 mm of tread. Around 7°C is a practical reminder to plan a change, not the legal temperature threshold. See the winter tyre guidance from BESIP.

Tyre fitting or a complete wheel swap?

Tyre fitting means replacing the tyres on the rims, balancing and refitting the wheels. A wheel set swap means exchanging wheels that already have tyres fitted. Tell us which set you have so we can quote the right job.

Our tyre service price list shows the rates by wheel size and the wheel set swap price. New tyres are quoted separately after we check the size, suitable options and availability.

What to check on tyres

Tread depth, uneven wear, cracks, bulges, sidewall damage and valves all matter. Uneven wear can also suggest chassis or alignment issues.

Why balancing matters

Unbalanced wheels can cause steering vibration, faster tyre wear and worse driving comfort.

What to include in the request

Tell us the wheel or tyre size and whether you need tyre fitting on rims, a complete wheel set swap, or a new set of tyres.

Frequently asked questions

Can I still drive with this issue?

Seasonal tyre changes are best booked early. Damaged tyres, vibration or air loss should be handled before normal seasonal appointments.

What should I include in the request?

Send the tyre size, whether the wheels are on rims and whether you need a full tyre change, wheel swap or puncture repair.

Can you source new tyres for my car?

Yes. Based on the tyre size, vehicle and budget, we suggest suitable options and confirm availability and price. We order the tyres only after you approve the quote.

When is calling safer?

Call if you have a puncture, visible sidewall damage, strong vibration or the car does not drive smoothly after a wheel change.
