Car service for foreigners and expats

What we can help with

Autoservis 1 is a local car workshop in Červený Újezd at Unhošťská 92, close to Unhošť and Prague-West. The location is practical for foreign drivers living around Hostivice, Rudná, Kladno, Jeneč, Zličín and nearby towns.

English written service requests are welcome. We do not need a perfect technical description at the first step. The important part is to understand the symptom, inspect the car and agree on a sensible repair plan.

How the repair process works

  1. You send a request in English with the vehicle, symptom and contact details.
  2. We review the request and agree on the suitable next step, date or inspection.
  3. The car is checked before larger work begins, especially for unclear faults.
  4. We explain the finding, repair scope and price estimate before repair work starts.
  5. The repair continues only after the next step is agreed.

What to send us

You do not need to know the exact part name. If the car is making a noise, pulling to one side, showing a warning light or failing Czech STK, describe what you notice in normal words.

  • vehicle make, model, year and mileage if you know them
  • when the problem appears: cold start, braking, acceleration, turning, motorway speed
  • whether the car is still drivable or feels unsafe
  • photo of a warning light, visible damage, leak or Czech STK report
  • preferred date and whether you need the car back by a specific time

Czech STK and MOT explained

In Czechia, STK is the mandatory technical inspection. English-speaking drivers often compare it to MOT in the UK or a roadworthiness inspection in other countries. The inspection itself is performed by an STK station, not by the workshop.

Before the STK date, a workshop check can reduce avoidable problems. We can look at lights, tyres, brakes, chassis play, visible leaks, dashboard warning lights and other items that commonly affect inspection or safety. We cannot guarantee the STK result, but we can help you find and fix visible issues before you go.

FAQ for expats and English-speaking drivers

Can I send a car service request in English?

Yes. You can send your request in English through the form. Describe the problem in normal words; you do not need to know Czech repair terms.

Do I need to know the exact car part name?

No. It is enough to write when the problem happens, what the car does, whether a warning light is on and whether the car is drivable.

What is Czech STK or MOT?

STK is the Czech mandatory technical inspection, similar to MOT in the UK or a roadworthiness inspection in other countries.

Can Autoservis 1 prepare my car for Czech STK?

We can check common risk areas such as lights, brakes, tyres, chassis, leaks and warning lights before the inspection. The final STK result is decided by the inspection station.

What should I send before booking?

Send your name, phone, e-mail, service type, vehicle make and model if you know them, a short issue description, preferred date and any photo or STK report if available.

When is calling better than the form?

Call if the car is not drivable, a red warning light is on, brakes feel unsafe, fluid is leaking, the car loses power or you need a quick appointment.
