Published 17 October 2026. General guidance; an inspection of your vehicle is still required.
General guidance cannot confirm that your car is safe to drive. The existing workshop photo does not document the specific fault discussed here.
Use the schedule for the particular engine
Check the manufacturer's requirements for the engine version and specified plug type. Do not use a friend's interval or one mileage figure for all petrol engines. Look for an actual spark-plug replacement on the invoice, rather than just “service”. If records are missing, say so. Mention LPG operation or other relevant modifications before the work is agreed.
Plugs, coils and diesel glow plugs are different
A spark plug ignites the mixture in a petrol engine; an ignition coil is a separate component. Diesel glow plugs have another role and are outside this replacement guide. The exact engine helps define the request. “Bad plugs” without further details may not describe the fault and is insufficient information for ordering specific replacement parts.
When to request investigation rather than guess
Rough running, poor starting and hesitation can have several causes. Describe whether it occurs at a cold start, at idle or under load, and mention warnings. A fault message helps guide investigation; it is not an automatic parts list. Distinguish this request from routine maintenance so that the workshop can confirm an appropriate initial scope.
What a replacement quote should cover
Ask for suitable parts for the engine, the required quantity, labour and any associated work to be identified. A similar size or more expensive design is not automatically a suitable substitute. Access and the condition of removed components can affect the next steps. Additional work should require separate approval. This guide is not a removal procedure or a source of one universal tightening torque.
When not to wait for routine servicing
Severe jerking, a flashing engine warning, fuel smell, smoke or a red warning requires a safe stop and discussion of assistance or transport. Do not rev hard to provoke the fault or disconnect ignition components with the engine running. A phone description cannot establish safe driving. An acute symptom should not wait just because a routine plug-change appointment has already been requested.
Price and information to send
There is no fixed all-plug replacement price here. Provide the make, model, year, engine and mileage since the last documented change if known. Explain whether the car runs normally or has a new symptom. Ask for the total parts-and-labour quote and how any further fault investigation will be approved. Replacing plugs is not a promise of a particular fuel saving or a cure for every running problem.
Frequently asked questions
Do all plugs have the same replacement interval?
No. Follow the requirements for the particular engine and the correct part type rather than a universal mileage.
Will new plugs cure hesitation?
The symptom alone cannot establish that. A running fault needs appropriate checks rather than speculative parts purchases.
Agree the next step safely
Autoservis 1 is at Unhošťská 92, Červený Újezd, near Unhošť, Hostivice, Kladno and Prague-West. For acute safety concerns, seek appropriate assistance rather than waiting for an email. An enquiry does not confirm a price, appointment or that the car can be driven.
Send only relevant details
Relevant photos or records can be emailed; the form does not accept attachments. Remove unrelated personal information. Take photos only when safely stationary and never approach danger just to document a fault.
