Do not wait until the belt fails
A broken timing belt can seriously damage an engine. Replacing it at the specified interval is a preventive job, not something to postpone until symptoms appear. With a used car and unclear service history, check the interval soon after purchase.
The work may involve the timing belt kit, tensioner and idler pulleys and, depending on the engine, the water pump. Parts and labour vary considerably between engines.
How much for an Octavia or Superb?
The model name alone is not enough. Octavia II, Octavia III and Superb II have different engines and timing systems. From CZK 3,500 is the labour price for a timing belt replacement, not the complete price including parts. Send the VIN or exact engine specification for an estimate.
We separate labour from the timing kit, any water pump and coolant required. Include the year, mileage and last known timing belt change.
When to ask about replacement

How long does the work take?
Timing depends on the engine, access and parts availability. We do not promise the same number of hours for every car. Book in advance; we agree when to bring the vehicle and its expected collection time.
Timing belts and timing chains are different
Follow the manufacturer’s instructions and service history for a belt. Chain-related work depends on the engine and symptoms, such as rattling after starting. If you are unsure, begin with vehicle diagnostics.
Indicative labour prices
Parts are additional. The total may include the timing kit, pulleys, water pump and coolant, depending on the engine. Check the price list. Work starts only after the scope and estimate are approved.
Call if there are signs of a current fault
Call first if the engine makes an unusual noise, will not start, runs unevenly or there is a suspected timing fault. Do not repeatedly try to start an engine with a suspected timing failure.
