Published 18 October 2026. General guidance; an inspection of your vehicle is still required.
General guidance cannot confirm that your car is safe to drive. The existing workshop photograph is illustrative, not evidence of this fault.
Safety comes before interpreting the pattern
Do not continue driving with a bulge, exposed construction, visible damage or rapid pressure loss. Arrange professional assistance or transport. Do not judge the whole tyre by the part that looks least worn. A photograph cannot replace an inspection or establish a safe driving distance. If you cannot assess the extent of the damage, explain that when arranging help rather than making another journey to see whether it gets worse.
Describe the location, not a diagnosis
Wear in the centre, on both shoulders, along one edge or in irregular patches may point the inspection towards pressure, wheel alignment or suspension condition. A photograph is not a reliable parts diagnosis. Identify the wheel and describe what you can actually see instead of declaring that it needs alignment. Note whether several tyres have the same pattern and whether you have also noticed noise.
Compare pressure with the vehicle's instructions
When safely parked, follow the vehicle manufacturer's pressure-checking procedure and specified conditions. Use the figure for the actual tyre size and load, not a universal internet recommendation. Report any measurement and its circumstances if known. Correct pressure today does not explain the tyre's entire wear history. A gradual pressure leak is covered in a separate guide; the distinguishing issue here is where the tread has worn away.
Prepare useful information for the inspection
Provide the tyre size, approximate mileage on the set, last wheel-change date and any recent pothole or kerb impact. If you have a previous alignment report, it can be emailed after unrelated personal information has been removed. Take photographs only from a safely accessible position while parked. Do not crawl under an unsupported vehicle or reach behind a wheel just to obtain a better picture for the workshop.
Do not order parts from the tread pattern alone
Start by agreeing checks of the tyres and relevant suspension condition. This guide does not confirm a failed damper, prescribe an adjustment or promise that the workshop provides wheel-alignment measurement. Ask which checks are available before booking. Moving tyres between positions cannot restore rubber already worn away. An appropriate professional should assess continued use of each tyre rather than relying only on the age of the set.
Separate inspection, tyres and fitting in the quote
Say whether you need an initial check, tyre fitting, replacement tyres or investigation of a related fault. A standard fitting price is not automatically the price of correcting abnormal wear. Ask for a quote identifying parts, labour and any further proposed work; there is no invented repair total here without findings. State whether the vehicle is safely parked and agree handover. An enquiry does not establish an appointment or a safe journey.
Frequently asked questions
Will replacing the tyres alone solve it?
A new set does not address a cause that remains present. Agree an assessment of the wear and any necessary follow-up checks first.
Must the car pull to one side if its tyres wear unevenly?
Pulling and visible wear are different observations. Report the tyre condition even if you have noticed no change in steering.
Agree the next step safely
Autoservis 1 is at Unhošťská 92, Červený Újezd, near Unhošť, Hostivice, Kladno and Prague-West. Describe the symptoms before travelling. An enquiry does not confirm a price, appointment or safe journey.
Send only relevant details
Email only relevant photographs or records taken while safely parked. Remove unrelated personal information. The form does not accept attachments. Never put yourself at risk to document a fault.
