Published 17 October 2026. General guidance; an inspection of your vehicle is still required.
The existing workshop image is illustrative; it does not document this specific fault. This guide cannot confirm whether your vehicle is safe to drive.
Send the complete report
Keep all pages, including the conclusion and measured results. A clear photo or PDF can be sent by email; the enquiry form has no attachment field. Include the make, model, year, engine if known and any warning light or change in how the car runs.
Emissions and STK findings are different
An emissions result concerns a different set of checks from items such as brakes, lamps or suspension at the Czech STK. Tell the workshop if both inspections found problems. A repair plan should follow the actual reports rather than an assumption that one intervention will resolve everything.
Do not order parts from one code
A diagnostic code identifies an observed condition, not necessarily the failed component. Causes require investigation in the context of the vehicle and results. Erasing codes, replacing parts at random or trying a treatment without identifying the fault can obscure the problem without providing a repair.
Agree the next stage
Ask what the first investigation includes, what evidence will guide the repair and how extra work will be authorised. State any retest deadline printed on your documentation or communicated by the station. This guide does not promise a retest period, a pass or a fixed all-inclusive repair price.
Is it safe to drive in?
A failed test does not itself answer that question. Strong smoke, severe loss of performance, overheating or a red warning require a separate safety decision. Stop safely when necessary and call to discuss transport rather than assuming the car can be driven because a workshop visit is booked.
A useful service enquiry
Describe the symptom, when it occurs and any warning lights. Include the make, model, year and approximate mileage. Send relevant photographs or reports by email; the enquiry form does not accept attachments. Do not record or use your phone while driving.
